Hi, my name is Barbara Zalewski

I have owned and self-managed my own rental properties for 10 years now. I bought my first home in March of 2016; a condo at the base of Keystone Resort in Colorado because of my love of skiing. I did short-term rentals at the property when I wasn’t using it, before eventually moving into it full-time. I have bought and sold several properties. I have remodeled my homes with my own two hands. I have successfully completed a two for one forward 1031 exchange. I have dealt with nightmare HOAs, and promised myself I will never purchase another home in an HOA. I’m constantly learning new skills when doing projects around my properties, and each time I purchase a new home I always learn something new.

I have been involved in real estate since 2014. When I worked for a commercial real estate developer in Denver, it was a wonderful experience with a great mentor. I got a very thorough education in all aspects of commercial real estate development; from construction and overseeing projects, to designing buildings, to financing, pro formas and dinners with bankers, to writing leases, CAM charges and property management. This experience gave me the confidence I needed to pull the trigger on buying my first, and then shortly after second home and I haven’t stopped since. I just bought my first apartment in January of 2026!

I completed my Masters of Science in Geography, with an emphasis in community planning and development in December of 2022. I have been working on the construction side of real estate since 2017; I currently work part-time and fully remote for a subcontractor out of Seattle, WA doing construction estimating.
